Doctors of internal medicine focus on adult medicine and have had special study and training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults. Internists are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor," because they are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems.
Our Services
Our practice is limited to outpatient care.
Medical Care in Hospital setting is complex and time consuming.We admit our patients only at St. Joseph's Hospital. The hospital now has physician who specializes in complex Hospital Care. They are called Hospitalist and Internist. When our patients need hospital care, we refer them to the hospitalist. We receive all the information about medical care given at the hospital on daily basis. This helps to smoothen the transition of care upon discharge to our office. We are online with the hospital to download medical information.
